Social Issues Cherelle Supports:

It's important to continue to support, and uplift marginalized & underserved communities.

Education

I support providing adequate resources for education, infrastructure repair funding, and support to staff from wages, to educational resources to support students of the future. Adequate classroom safety, and PPE precautions resources. Hazard Pay for staff that reside home if they're sick.

Fighting student loan debt starts with removing the debt in the first place. I think we can even go a step further by ensuring that students have access to high paying jobs straight out of school. That's creating an economy that supports education, and contributes to a healthy economy. I support student reparations for black students as well.

Health Care & Access Support

Access to health care is a right. We must support our communities with the right resources, and support. Ensuring BIPOC & LGBTQ communities have the right access to care.

In addition, our health care facilities have the opportunity to also help reduce the unemployment rate by helping unskilled workers develop skills in the healthcare field to fulfill the employment needs of their facilities. We all have a role to play, and I believe working together we can get this done.

Social & Economic Justice

Social Economic Justice: Working through the transgression of BIPOC, believing in the work to amplify women, BIPOC, LGBTQ, and learning to hold space for all people patiently, and respectfully listening to their needs, and finding ways to support that. I support reparations for the hardships faced by the African American & Indigenous communities. This is also ensuring there is access to resources, and to remove systemic barriers.

Affordable Housing

A priority of San Francisco is to continue to support initiatives that help with Affordable Housing. Bringing solutions that re-develop the way we think about resolving these issues.

Women's Rights

Empowering women, focusing protecting women's rights, and getting the pay they deserve at all levels. Giving women the tools and resources they need to uplift themselves, and amplify their voices in their communities. Supporting women & small business, & creating sustainability.

Other Supported Issues:

Creating critical investments to create jobs, build skills, and prepare working class, transitional career women to gain new career opportunities.

Supporting women from workplace sexual harassment, and discrimination.

Investment in health equity for women, feminine care, mental health care, and supporting a women's right to choose. Supporting research & educational health care to ensure the tools and innovative steps are taken to advance our health care in

Commitment to allocating funding for community

Seniors, Veterans, Disabled  Fighting for the Homeless.

Seniors, Veterans, Disabled need us. They need us advocating for their care, providing resources so they don't fall through the cracks. Ensuring that access to housing that's affordable on a fixed income. Real solutions to real problems. One of the priorities of concern is to ensure they are not counted out of the workforce, but also ensuring when it's time to retire they can do so comfortably without ending up on the streets. There are also differences in experiences for some living on fixed income have different experiences, and need different resources. I recognize that, and want to ensure I address it.
