SOMA
SOMA has an upcoming Emerging Community of new residents amongst native residents. The area has a distinct artsy culture, talent, and full of robust opportunity. That being said it's important to increase the character of the area with beautification. As families began to move in, and continue to grow, so will the beautification of the area.
*I.E place plants, and flowers on sidewalks near trees in distinct locations.
Simultaneously, the priority will be to recognize, and assist our unhoused or individuals experiencing homelessness. Together we can create safe spaces for families to thrive, and uplift communities facing hardship.
Supporting SOMA
Supporting Communities of Interests:
*Ensuring that the private sector non-profits are recognized for their continued service. Continue to provide funding, and other critical support
Arts & Culture
Supporting the arts, culture, and talent of the district is incredibly important. Building coalitions of support and ensure that they have the support they need to remain sustainable after being impacted by the pandemic.
SOMA Business:
Ensuring that business owners get the support they need in order to adequately run their companies.
SOMA merchants, and business owners are an asset to building a vibrant district in efforts to grow diverse business ownership within the area we will work to grow partnerships & opportunities.
Athletics & Sports
Ensuring that sports remain sustainable, and in full operation. Ensuring protections for staff are adequately in place, while also supporting fair hiring practices an extending support to hire residents of the district/community. As well as supporting public transit options during game times to reduce carbon footprint.
